The ever popular 51TH Commando Sabers are back in stock and ready for commission.

The For Sale section has been revamped.

Check out the two new for sale sections.  Product sabers can be ordered with 3-4 week lead time and have their own section.  Completed custom sabers are ready to ship and have their own section.  Most of these are abandoned custom builds (people who commissioned sabers then did not pay for them) or customs from my own collection.  Take a peek, there will usually be something cool there ;)

Build log updated, Will open in early July

Posted by LDM on June 26, 2013 at 3:05 AM Comments comments (0)

The Build log will open up for a total fo 5 projects on July 5th (or there about).  I will post here when it is officially open.  I have had discussions iwth at least 25 people for possible custom projects and will only take 5 for the next 3 month period.

I will also be doing OM Maul installs, OM Stormtrooper installs and bringing the next group of MKVI's to market.  I will continue ot take requests for KotOR sabers, Jacen Solo Sabers and Malakyte Sabers even when the log is closed.  I typically get those out in about 2-3 weeks so message me if you want one of them.  The Malakytes are great duelers and everyone who has one loves it so don't miss out.

The Malakyte Commando/51TH Commando saber line is coming soon as well.

Sabers for sale-Huge update and Malakytes!

Posted by LDM on April 23, 2013 at 6:05 PM Comments comments (0)

I have seriously updated the "For Sale" Section.  It now has 3 sub-categories, Custom Sabers for Sale, Malakyte Sabers for Sale and Limited Sabers for sale.

Under the custom tab, I will list "One-off" custom sabers as they are available.

Under the Malakyte tab, you will find everything you need to know to order one of my sweet Malakyte Stunt or Malakyte CSv1 sabers.  Malakytes are currently in-stock and take about 14 days from payment to shipping. (as of 4-23-13)

Under the Limited tab, you fill find special offerings of groups or types of sabers left over from runs that I have been in charge of.  The number of each type will be listed and when those are gone, they are gone.  I will keep this up to date as each unit is sold. Jacen Solo and KotOR sabers are in stock and available.  They take 14-21 days from payment to shipping.  (as of 4-23-13)

New commission acceptance guidelines

Posted by LDM on February 15, 2012 at 3:10 AM Comments comments (0)

This is what you all have been waiting for ;)

Working framework for future build log (starting Feb. 15, 2012):

Project Selection Process:

Firstly, I would like to thank each and every one of my many clients over the last 6 years.  Without you, my artistic pursuits would not be realized and for that, I am eternally thankful.  Please understand that the following "rules" are now in effect to make your experience with me better.  I strive for EXCELLENT client care and quality of work and feel as though the following changes will help me to deliver that more effectively than I already do without stressing me out so bad that I feel like i need to puke every day.

The manner in which I will accept new commissions must be changed.  Philosophically, I am not comfortable sitting on people's money for extended periods of time, nor am I comfortable making people wait for long periods of time.  Finally, I really hate finally getting to a project only to find that the client has disappeared into the great beyond internetz after I have all their parts on hand.  So, to rectify this I have created my new build log.  As you can see by looking below, there are limited spots for various types of projects.  If the type of project you want is full, then I will not take it until a spot opens up.  Period.  Right now, I have 25+ people waiting for me to accept commissions again...look at my log...does it look like I will be getting to anything new any time soon?  The projects there already are 3 months + of work and other than the repairs, it is all from my previous build log!

What will happen is that I will diligently update my build log (both here and on my site...see my blog above for announcements) as spots become available.  When I clear 2-3 projects, I will open up the spots.  The first folks to contact me will get those slots if we can  agree on the details.  So, which place do I update quicker?  My site.  Usually update it 1-24 hours sooner than here.

How do I pick the projects that I will accept?  Well, I have to feel them.  I am done taking projects that I can't put my heart into.  If I decline your project, it doesn't mean that it sucks, it just means that it doesn't move ME.  Art is like that.  My long time clients already know this about me and now is the time that the rest of you do as well.  You know before you come to me if you like my style and if you do, then don't be surprised if I ma opinionated about your project.  I have done this nearing 400 times now.  I know what I am doing and I will not steer you wrong.  If I say it will look bad...it will.  If I say it won't work...it won't.  Finally, I reserve the right to "jump around" my build log as I see fit.  I don't do it often, but sometimes I get "blocked" and need to clear my head by working on something else.  If you commission me, do not complain about this.

If you commission me, you are gonna have to trust me or we cannot work together.  I will not steal your money, nor will I simply disappear (barring an accident or something).  If it turns out that  I cannot finish our business together (my fault) then I will refund your deposit money in it's entirety.  If you spaz out, I will not refund you unless you find someone to buy you out (and it will be minus the paypal fees).

So, in summation...you want me to do a project for you, you #1 check this very build log and see if I have a spot open BEFORE you PM or email me.  Then, #2 you read my Services post (above or on my site) so that you understand my guidelines/policies.  Finally, #3 you PM or email me and we discuss your project.  If you miss any of the above 3 steps, I will tell you to read my services thread/tab and possibly send Gravy to your domicile for a little "awareness training".

As always, you are free to PM or email me questions, but make sure you have actually looked for the answer here first

I have finished my part of the OM run and am moving into the MKIII's this weekend starting tomorrow.  I plan to have them finished within the week.  These will most likely be my last group for 2011, but the repairs mentioned in my previous entry may sneak in as well.

Watch for Kaplan's Graflex to hit the streets with my all new chassis in early 2012.

Project updates

Posted by LDM on December 2, 2011 at 12:15 AM Comments comments (0)

Update time.  I am currently working on the Qui and the saber for Jazz Kopek Rathore.  Both should be finished within a week or so.  Then I must tackle the Orbital Machining Obi installs.  I have 7 CF installs to do on those so it should take me until early January to finish.  Then I will resume the sabers in my log.  Once I clear that (or get close at least), I will begin accepting new work.  To those not listed (if I have been discussing a project with you), you will be first on the list when it re-opens.  My apologies on the time it is taking me, but the depth of these builds has increased dramatically and the time to accomplis what people request has followed suit.
